Ice Cream Gal Needs A Pasteurizer!


Hi! My name is Lauren Wilson and I make homemade ice cream. Three years ago, right here in Seattle, I founded Sweet Lo's Homemade Ice Cream after spending a short stint in Vermont where I learned the joys and remarkable powers of homemade ice cream. My ice cream is luscious to the core and unapologetically unctuous. You’ll crave it even when you don’t want to. Be warned, it will change the way you imagine ice cream, in the best possible way.



What Makes Sweet Lo’s Different


Many ice cream shops—including more than half of those in Seattle—rely on a pre-made ice cream base. Not Sweet Lo’s! I make everything from scratch, using:

- Whole ingredients (milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks, salt)
- Homemade add-ins (cookies, lemon bars, peanut brittle, you name it)
- No stabilizers
- No preservatives
- No pre-made ice cream base



What I’m Asking For


As my business has grown, I desire to make my ice cream more accessible to you and your tummy. At this stage, demand for Sweet Lo’s is exceeding my production ability - Seattle sure does love its ice cream! I have my eyes set on a larger ice cream maker, an Emory Thompson CB-350, made right here in America. This machine cranks out ice cream fast—nearly 50 times faster than the sweet, modest machine I launched my business with.

Also, in order to wholesale my ice cream to grocery outlets and restaurants in Washington State, I need to heat my homemade ice cream base to 165 degrees for 40 minutes using a commercial pasteurizer.

This is where you come in. Your donation and continued support will allow me to purchase a commercial pasteurizer and new ice cream maker in order to bring you delicious ice cream whenever you want it—and more of it!

Rather than ordering ice cream days in advance and waiting a week for your delivery, you'll be able to acquire my pints at local grocery stores throughout the city.
