Puerto Rico is going through its worst time in modern history. Hurricane Maria completely devastated the island, leaving millions without power, running water or food.
As many of you are aware, our very own Emily Jimenez from Finance, a native of Puerto Rico, has been severely impacted. Thirteen members of her immediate family, including her son, lost their homes and personal belongings during the hurricane. Some of the family members were left finding shelter inside of their car along with whatever they were able to salvage; many of them in need of medical attention.
As of October 13th, Emily’s family were able to secure flights out of Puerto Rico and made their way to Florida where they will be temporarily living with another family member in their garage.
Emily’s son, now staying with her and her daughters, was treated for dehydration after spending days on a roof without food or water, until a boat from FEMA rescued him.
To secure the airline tickets and travel costs, a significant amount of finances were exhausted which left very little for the purchase of clothing, toiletries and everyday living items.
We ask that you please consider making a donation of any amount in an effort to assist Emily and her family with their transition.
