SUPPORT A SICKLE CELL TEEN'S DREAM
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ali. I am a honor roll student who enjoys participating in different activities and love helping others. As most of you know I was diagnosed with sickle cell disease as a newborn. I've taken multiple trips to the ER for pain crises, been hospitalized many times and even spent almost 3 weeks at CHOP fighting for my life with pneumonia. Yes, my sickle cell can get me down at times, but I do not let that stop me from achieving my goals and pushing myself to the limit. I believe with God, hard work and dedication you can do anything you put your mind to.
Last year, I lost my biggest supporter; my grandmother to ALS. This completely broke my heart as well as many. My grandmother was always there for me and loved seeing me grace the stage at pageants. This past weekend I participated in the Pennsylvania ECUSA beauty pageant to honor my nanny. I even wore a purple (grandmother's favorite color) dress in memory of her. Out of about 25 participants from Pennsylvania, I was crowned Miss Spirit and Beauty 1st runner up in my age division. I won 2 crowns, a sash awards and most of all a ticket to Nationals. I NEVER won a sash nor major title. This was my first time winning a title and I couldn't be happier.
Unfortunately, nationals are a little more expensive than what we thought. So, I am hoping to get sponsors to help me reach my goal so that I may compete in July. Competing in Nationals is mandatory or I will have to forfeit my title as Pennsylvania's Miss Spirit. Attending will not only give me the opportunity to build new friendships but help me with self confidence and the ability to network with different organizations associated with ECUSA.
Thank you to all who continues to support me and make my dreams come true. Whether it's $50, $5 or $1; Every donation is helpful and appreciated. Much Love, Aliyana *PLEASE SHARE* <3
