August 17, 2019 will forever be remembered as another tragic day for our family. Who knew that it'd be the last day we'd see one another. What was supposed to be just another day at the beach, tragically turned into the last day that we would ever get to physically see Alex & Anthony.
Alex Peric is my son. He is the youngest of 6 boys with 1 older sister and 1 younger sister. He recently just graduated from Tafuna High School Class of 2019. He is an amazing young man who impacted many lives ( both young & old ). Popular among his peers, Alex led a God fearing life and is being remembered by many as a very inspirational young man whose love for the Lord & his fellowmen showed in every aspect of his young life. Apart from his love for God, his love for family is second to none.
Anthony Leota is my nephew ( sister's son ) and he was on the path of completing high school in the oncoming school year. He too, is the youngest in the line of 5 boys with 1 younger and 4 older sisters. Anthony's final days leading up to this tragedy were troubled but it is our consolation that before he went missing , Anthony truly found the happiness that he had searched & longed for that had been missing from his young life. Our family has been struck twice with tragedy in that Anthony & his siblings lost their mother in the tsunami of 2009 here in Am. Samoa. Since then, life was always a struggle.
Although lost at sea, it is our heart's desire to reunite with the siblings of both boys who live abroad in our time of sadness. We seek your support however small, in bringing our family together to celebrate Alex & Anthony's lives & to bid them farewell.
