- The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2646)
- "The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim." (Sunan Ibn Mājah 224)
- Allah (ﷻ) says in the Quran, "Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees." (Quran 58:11)
- Supporting a student of Islamic knowledge is a form of sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity), the rewards of which continue even after one's death.
