My name is Gerry Moffett and I want to tell you about my friend Steve Williams. Steve received an injection in his neck for pain from a prior injury which resulted in paralysis from the chest down. He had surgery to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord. After the surgery the doctors informed him that he would not walk again.  But the always-soft spoken and respectful Steve informed them that they were “mistaken” and that he "will walk again".   Steve continues to have a positive attitude, a deep faith, and a sincere belief that he indeed will walk again.  Today he is working hard to reach that goal.   He has been going to Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Center in Carlsbad, Ca. (http://projectwalk.com) His progress has been nothing short of miraculous!  But despite the amazing work this center does, the insurance company will not cover the treatments and Steve has no way to work at the current time.  His initial visits were paid through a scholarship program at Project Walk.  When those ran out family and friends stepped up.  But the need is big and immediate.  Just like Steve believes he will walk, I believe we can raise a lot of money to help him do it. 

Here’s where the money will go.  First, the majority of the money raised will go toward Steve’s Project Walk treatments and transportation to those treatments. Second, some of the money will go toward his everyday living expenses, which are modest. 

I’m asking you to consider giving a financial gift.  I know everybody is in a different place in his or her lives. Some of you can give a large gift others small.  Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated.  Please stay tuned for updates, new pictures, and videos of Steve's progress!
