Help Steven's Recovery from Brain Injury

Our friend, Steven, unfortunately sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury at the end of 2016.  He woke up in the hospital with a concussion. And like with most TBIs, symptoms are delayed and take time to develop.  He started to develop an inability to focus, confusion, disorientation, fatigue, headaches, mood swings, etc.  These complications eventually forced him out of his job, and currently keep him medically unemployable.

Steven is a private, single man living alone with no friends or family living nearby.  It has taken a lot of time for him to accept and even understand that he has a serious issue.  With no current source of income, Steven exhausted his savings  after connecting with specialists (out-of-network) who are running tests on Steven to have an idea of what is going on with him in order to treat him.  This has only become more difficult because of Covid-19.  The doctors’ initial goal is to get Steven’s stability more manageable, and then begin re-establishing a normal life.  Since Steven has never been the sort of person to ask for help, it has taken time for him to be vulnerable enough to share what has been happening with his circle of friends.  After this discovery, we – his “family” – have put together this GoFundMe to help raise money for his basic necessities and medical expenses.

Sometimes in life, friends become family.  These people enter your life, engage with you because they care, join in the fun and laughter, but most importantly support you when burdens become heavy.  Our friend Steven is one of those friends that became family. Steven has always put others ahead of himself.  Never one to impose, he has always shared with others.  A consistent giver, he even spearheaded the philanthropic initiative where he formerly worked aiding those without financial resources for medical help.

It is because of this man’s loving generosity that we write this.

We know this is a tough time because of all that is happening in the world, but even a few dollars would help.  It can be a one time gift, or a smaller monthly/recurring donation. Any money raised here is to take care of his daily expenses, or outstanding medical/lab bills.  None of the money here is being used for any other expenses.  This is to only take care of his needs including:
