What's up, my name is Shrista and I am an aspiring entertainer. Unfortunately, I have allowed my life to collapse around me while smiling and pretending everything was fine. But the truth is, it isn’t fine. So today I am being vulnerable, today I am being raw, and today I am asking for your help.
My bills have piled up over the years to a point that if I don’t handle it now, I’m going to end up homeless or filing bankruptcy, which I don’t want to have to do. I have bills stemming from, behind rent ($1000+), apartment lease break fee ($2000+), new apartment/deposit ($1500+), car accident damage ($1800), behind cell phone bills ($300), even a planet fitness collection bill ($200) and more! Being raised by a-single mother struggling with meth addiction, caused me to live on our own at the age of 7, so I’ve always been on my own with my siblings. I’ve always been just surviving, but I don’t want to just survive, I want to thrive.
The last 3 years have been financially some of my toughest. In March of 2019, I got in a serious car accident (6 month recovery time) where I broke 7 bones and had a major surgery. In September of 2019 (6months later), I was diagnosed with a deadly post-op infection in my arm called pseudomonas osteoporosis (deadly bone infection). In October of 2019 I had a 2nd surgery to remove the equipment out of my arm to attempt to remove the infection and save my life. I was on a PICC line until January 2020 (4 months later), and beat the infection officially February 2020. Except, due to my survival instinct, I still never asked for help even after surviving life twice.
So during this, I lost my job, and all my bills piled up and still are. Then in March 2020, entertainment and the world (the pandemic) shutdown the world for a couple years too, so I never had a chance to get back on my feet. Asking for help seemed embarrassing and uncomfortable at first, but I'd rather ask for help than let my life fall into shambles.
