Disabled Queer Femme needs new teeth and housing
Shawna is a 26-year-old queer femme who was diagnosed with a neurological disability, a seizure disorder, and a migraine disorder in 2019.
These recent burdens that have left her unable to find work that will accommodate her physical limitations and pay for her medical and personal bills.
On top of all this, Shawna was also diagnosed with Osteopenia of the teeth- a loss of bone mass and low bone density which can occur at any age. Malnuritionment in her childhood and into adulthood also played a factor. Her seizure medications also cause her to lose bone density.
For more information regarding her teeth condition, I've provided a link below

She had a flipper (fake teeth retainer) for a few years but they cause her pain and give her migraines since they do not fit anymore.
Life has been tough, and Shawna is a fighter and a light in the lives of everyone she knows. She lost her first tooth when she was only eighteen and has lost almost ten in the last eight years.
Not having front teeth and knowing all your remaining teeth are doomed as well takes a psychological toll on a young person. Never being able to show teeth when she smiles, or bite into an apple. Her teeth regularly causes her discomfort both physically and mentally.
I am her best friend of 14 years, and I am starting this gofundme to help Shawna gain back her confidence and proudly smile again.
The cost of a new dental flipper is about $1300. We are also trying to find Shawna housing!! As she has no license and can’t risk getting Covid, she needs help moving back into the city! The other $1200 would help her find appropriate housing and help pay medical bills.
Shawna lives in a small town outside of Austin, and since she cannot drive she is left to her own vices during this global pandemic. There is no public transportation, and I live 30+ miles away if she needed me. We are trying to find her housing in Austin so that she is closer to her friends and can have more access to public transportation and places she could walk to.
Please share this, boost it, donate even a bit!! Help out a disabled queer femme who was given some hard cards and needs community support to live a fulfilling life. Thank you!
