Hi everyone, meet Lily! After having my sweet Rottweiler Avalon  pass away last year at the age of 13, I decided to rescue  Lily, a senior Rottweiler at 6yrs old,  only two weeks ago (her family moved to Texas and couldn't find a rental that would accept her). It was a big decision and one I continplated for over a month, after initially meeting her. She is a very sweet dog, but only a week into caring for her, she started to experience trouble with her hips/joints and became unable to get up, change sleeping positions, negotiate stairs, lost appetite, and ran a fever. I hoped she'd mend on her own, but after 4 rough days and continued decline in health, I had to get her into the Vet.  They insisted on keeping her over night and the bill would range from $1500-$2200 depending on the tests I agreed upon.  I went for the low end of the scale and prayed we'd get enough results from those tests that the Vet could diagnose her correctly. So, $1600 later and more follow up visits to go, It was determined she had developed Polyarthropathy (immune disorder/infection that attacks multiple joints at once) and has responded well to the med's they prescribed. She's back home and about 50% better then when I brought her in. She's on antibiotics, steroids, pain med, and antacid.  
Doctor anticipates, she can recover fully over time and was glad she was in my care when the situation arose!

So this go-fund-me account goes out to all you dog lovers out there who know the love of a dog and the unexpected bills than can arise out of nowhere! Looking for any help anyone can provide so that I can recover from this good deed along with my Lily.  I'm praying she's not on a life time of med's and can live a long life like my previous love, Avalon.
