Help Save Moses!

**THIS WAS MY ORIGINAL FACEBOOK POST**.
Found this filthy, trembling, starving, freezing, broken little thing lying on the cold sidewalk (42 degrees outside) chewing desperately on a stick and crying.
I gave him cat food because it's all I have, and of course gave him an Arbonne bath. He needs about 3 of those! I named him Moses because he looks like he has been wandering around in the desert for 40 years.
He seems mostly blind, and mostly deaf. These dogs are very susceptible to skin cancer, and I may see a few of those on him too.
I don't know what to do with him. I cannot keep him in my apartment, nor can I afford medical bills for him. I would love to see him get a good grooming, just so that he can know what it feels like to be clean and taken care of, if only once. But you can't take a dog to a groomer without shot records. If he is sick and needs to be put down, I don't want it to be when he is filthy, starving, and uncomfortable. I honestly don't know what to do. Any ideas?
**UPDATE**
AS IT TURNS OUT, THERE ARE MANY ANGELS ON FACEBOOK! ONE CAME TO MY RESCUE AND ALLOWED ME TO BRING MOSES IN TO THE ANIMAL HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WORKS, AND THEY CLEANED HIM UP AND GAVE HIM A BASIC EXAM FOR FREE! SO HERE IS MY NEXT  FB POST...
There has never been a dog happier to snuggle into a bed than this dog. It was the first show of happiness he has demonstrated.
Moses is an 11 year old, neutered male. He is hunchbacked and arthritic. He was/is severely dehydrated and malnourished. He has serious dental issues, and needs several extractions. He has cataracts in both eyes which is causing partial blindness. It's obvious that he is deaf to a point. He can hear me clapping but not talking.
He needs bloodwork to diagnose any medical issues. They also recommend X-rays to check on his spine and arthritis, but what is most pressing is the bloodwork to see if he is otherwise healthy, and whoever takes him will definitely have to get his dental work done. This will include anesthesia as they will be doing extractions. They said to do everything that he needs right now, including urgent dental, will be about $1500. But the bloodwork would come first. That is $185. Catraracts would be more, but we dont know how much yet.
I will be setting up a go fund me page if I do not find someone at a nonprofit to take him in and get the more pressing issues covered for him. I'll keep you all posted. In the meantime, thank you for being so generous and supportive. He is resting comfortably in his bed, and on his way over there he wagged his tail for the first time.

**LAST FB UPDATE**
Good morning! I slept like a baby, in a warm bed with my foster mom last night. I woke up thirsty and hungry, but very happy! Thank you for all of your love and support! Love, Moses

**NOW WHAT?**
The fact that I have decided that when he is ready, Moses needs to go DIRECTLY into a loving home rather than routed through a rescue, coupled with the AMAZING outpouring of support and requests for me to set up this Go Fund Me for Moses, has brought me to the decision that I keep him for now, (against my lease agreement, oops) and I will go forward with taking care of his immediate needs with the proceeds from this page. In  a perfect world, we will be able to address his cataracts as well, so that he can see again. However, I did not yet get an estimate for that yet. I will update when I do. I hope and pray that Moses does not have any other health problems that are beyond what I can provide, so that he will be easier to place. But at least with a diagnosis, we will be able to hope for an angel to take him in, knowing exactly what he needs.
This poor sweet dog has had a very hard time. When I found him, it was heartbreaking the way he was shaking, crying, and neurotically chewing on a stick, while lying on the very cold sidewalk. He deserves to know what it is like to be healthy again, and to be treated with love, for the rest of his years.

Please share this page with your animal loving freinds, as I hope to raise what I need over the weekend so that I can take him in on Monday to begin bringing him back to health, and not have to pick which ailments to treat but rather treat them all.
Moses is now getting used to being petted and loved on, he seems to enjoy when I hold him, and he is not getting scared as easily as he was yesterday. He is a little steadier on his feet as he is regaining his strength, and his back seems slightly less hunched. He seems to be housetrained (no accidents yet) and so far is very mellow. I think that with the proper attention, this little guy can be a loving companion for a  few years.

Look at Moses today! SO much better than yesterday! This is him enjoying his breakfast after a great nights sleep snuggled up next to me. I don't think he had been comfortable in a very long time, before last night. He slept solid for 9 hours. :)
