This is little Heidi Cempron Mag-away, my husband’s niece. She is from Damilag, Bukidnon, Philippines. She was born on March 14, 2014. As of this writing she is 15 months old. She's a little girl with biliary atresia and now needs a liver transplant operation.

“Biliary atresia is a relatively rare disease affecting 1 in every 10,000 to 20,000 infants soon after birth. The bile duct outside the liver carrying bile from the liver to the small intestine is damaged. This prevents bile from leaving the liver so it is accumulated there causing progressive damage to the liver tissue. In addition, there is ongoing damage to smaller bile ducts inside the liver. Unless bile flow can be established, liver function is gradually lost and affected children rarely survive beyond two years.”

I am a mother of three and I can barely imagine the pain that Heidi's mother is experiencing right now knowing that her little one is going through a tough battle. Just a few nights ago, while we were praying before bedtime, we prayed for little Heidi. After the prayer, my second son said he wants to play with little Heidi. They haven't personally met since birth. His statement gave me more inspiration to do what I can to help save little Heidi so he can play with her.

Last May, Heidi was rushed to the hospital due to continuous bleeding. That was the first of the many indications that her liver is already badly affected. After a series of tests & check-ups, her specialist told the family that in order for Heidi to survive, she will have to undergo a liver transplant as soon as possible. The transplant will cost approximately $100,000.  It will be done in the The Medical City in Ortigas Avenue, Philippines as soon as the family is able to provide a deposit of $38,000 and payment for endoscopy estimated at $1,500. Aside from these, there are pre-operation tests, which will cost around $2,500-5,000. If the transplant is successful, she will have a lifetime medication costing about $1,000 per month depending on the kinds of medicines recommended by her specialist. These are amounts the family doesn't have. I've created this crowdfunding page hoping that, with God's grace, this will raise the funds she needs for the operation. Please help us raise these funds by donating thru this page. Any amount, big or small, will surely help. If you are not able to donate, please help us by sharing this link in as many ways as possible.

Thank you in advance for your kindness. May you be blessed a thousandfold.
