Help Save Daisy

Hi Everyone, thank you so much for visiting this page & thinking of helping our baby girl.

My name is Demi, and I have been Daisy's mom for the past 12 and a half years.
As many of you know, Daisy is one of a kind, very special kitty. She was born in 2009 with a kinked tail, little to no hair, and was the runt of the litter. When she was available and ready for adoption from a friend, it seemed that no one was interested in this kitty; at the time, I had a large husky dog, so I didn't even consider adopting her a possibility. I was heartbroken to hear that no one wanted her. I told my friend that I would figure it out and take her under my wing if needed.

And... that friend came knocking. I gladly took Daisy in with open arms in August of 2009. She quickly surprised me and everyone else around with her high energy, quirky, dog-like qualities, humor (yes, she's funny!!), gorgeous markings, and unconditional love. We instantly became the perfect duo. Daisy would soon join me on my adventure throughout my twenties, sticking by my side in every single city apartment.

Every day after work, my partner and I, will sit on the couch with Daisy and tell her about our day. We let her crawl up onto either of our chests and pet her for a solid 30 minutes before she decides she's had enough.

After enough back strokes, Daisy decided it was time for some belly rubs. I was petting her belly and found an enlarged nipple. I was immediately concernced. I immediately took her to the animal hospital.

On February 12th, Daisy was diagnosed with a mammary tumor. She quickly needs to have the mass removed & biopsied. While we pray that a mass removal is enough, it’s unlikely.
Unfortunately, mammary cancer is likely in this case. It can be very aggressive in cats and quickly spread to other parts of her body. It is most likely, already to be a cancerous tumor as 91% of all masses in female cats are. She has about a 19% survival rate if it continues to spread, but with her being so active still, we can give her at least 2-4 more years with us if we can properly treat her with specialists.

Daisy is the most lively and loveable kitty I've ever known, and, on the bright side, she is still acting like her sweet self. She is still zooming around the house at night, playing with her fake mice, fetching feathers, watching cat tv, hoping in cardboard boxes any chance she gets. Considering she isn't exhibiting any pain so far, I want to give her the best care she deserves.

If you consider donating, your donation will help cover the costs of emergency veterinary care. We are certainly keeping our fingers & toes crossed as we still do not know if it's cancerous. Please keep Daisy in your thoughts & prayers. Any good vibes or well wishes are greatly appreciated.

Daisy will have surgery & her biopsy on February 22nd, 2022. We will update all of you after her procedure to see if there will be any further necessary procedures. Dr Murphy at pilgrim animal hospital has currently quoted us at 1,000$ for her X-rays, mass removal, and biopsy. We believe due to her age and size of the tumor this is cancerous and that she will need multiple appointments. If the donations exceed the limit, we will donate to an animal charity locally ♥️
