Every person endures hardships, without them we would not have success. Marissa “Roo” Ritter has had plenty of them in her short life that has prepared her for the worst. From a terrifying car accident, to losing her childhood boyfriend, she’s battled it all. Marissa is the strongest, most kindhearted, unselfish, and independent woman I know. She deserves nothing but the best; and every time life seems to get back to normal something unforgiving takes her down again.
Marissa was searching months for her dream home and found it in Monee IL, not far from her childhood home in New Lenox. She offered her life savings of $87,500 in order to purchase the home outright, all the money she’s saved up since she was a little girl. The day before closing the home wiring instructions were compromised and the money was sent off to a criminal. It was later unveiled that cyber communication was hacked and her hard earned money for a lifelong dream was stolen.
Immediately following a police report was filed and the FBI was notified, but laws cannot do anything to help her situation. After 7 weeks with no information on how much money was taken whatsoever, Marissa was finally notified that only $2,000 remained in the bank account. Marissa and her family were ordered to remove each personal account due to the incident.
In order to close on the house Marissa took out a variety of loans from her family, otherwise she would have been in breach of the closing contract and fined until full payments were received. She is out of money and with a long inspection list for occupancy Marissa is losing hope. Our goal is to recover the capital stolen from Marissa in order to not only pass inspection but more importantly pay back the family loans so Marissa doesn’t have to sell the home immediately and take a total loss.
It is so important that this story get out not only for Marissa’s sake, but to warn the world that wire fraud is real and can happen to anyone! We are really grateful that you took your valuable time to read Marissa’s devastating story. Please like, share, and pass to your loved ones because anyone could be next. We are praying for a miracle.
