Help RAWR land back on its feet
Donation protected
The RAWR space on 17th and Webster in Uptown, Oakland turns one in a just a few short weeks. It's been a busy year for us as we moved from exclusively servicing home delivery & wholesale clients to running our own retail and production space.
Sunday night at 10:47pm, our cat world was turned upside down. The RAWR store became yet another victim in our Uptown neighborhood. Rocks were thrown at our store shattering the door and window entirely and allowing the thief entry into our store. Once inside he stole our register system and in the process damaged our register stand, shelving, floor, door, windows and numerous products. To add to the difficulty our alarm system did not activate during the incident which could have made a huge difference in the outcome of our situation. We have given video feed to the Oakland Police Department in hope that something may come of it. Between repairing our store, dealing with the alarm company and OPD we have a lot more on our plate then we have room for.
We've never been one to ask for money (RAWR was born in my home kitchen with $2,000 from a savings account) but right now we realize how critical it is to get support from our community to build our store back up. Our insurance will not cover any of the damages so we are on our own on this one. We have so far lost 4 days of business and 4 days of production while we clean up and make repairs to our space, get our glass and register system replaced and attempt to reclaim some amount of normalcy in our lives.
We thank those of you who have already reached out asking how you can help and continuing to support RAWR. Any amount you can offer to help get us back on our feet is appreciated. If you would like to donate, but can't, the next best thing you can do for us is spread the word and continue to feed your littles RAWR. We will be re-opening Saturday and hope to see you see you soon.
