Randy Barton Stolen Art Materials

Donation protected
Hello everyone! As many of you know, Randy Barton is a rising full time artist who has done a lot of work for the community as well as been a strong friend and support system to many. Within the rise of his career, he recently chose to move back to his hometown of Winslow, Arizona for one reason and one reason only - to be with his daughters and family. He could be anywhere in the world doing his work, but he chose to move back to Winslow to be the father he was never given the chance to be.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot for one to do in Winslow, especially as a young artist, but Randy was determined to make it work. With his positive attitude and strong will he immediately found a meager space to turn into an art studio shortly after getting settled in. The space was definitely not the most desirable. It had no electricity or running water and was in a sketchy part of town, but it had to do for the meantime. Randy worked really hard to clear out the junk, clean it up, make it workable and move his materials in so that he could get working again.

In the midst of it all, Randy was piecing funds together to open up a small art boutique business in the town. His plan was to bring something fresh and new to Winslow, and this was going to give him an opportunity to continue selling his work. After going through the move-in process, he excitedly signed the lease and put down a large amount in deposits for move-in costs.

On the night of Wednesday, September 30 (his daughter’s birthday) the night before he was going to start moving into his new space of business, the most unfortunate happened, and the space he was using as an art studio got broken into. All of Randy’s tools he uses to make his canvases and everything of value was stolen including equipment used for product and promotion.

As you can imagine this was completely heart breaking and seemed almost unbelievable. He has gone to the local police department to report the incident, but they are not optimistic that anything will be found. As you can also imagine, not having the tools to do your work makes it a struggle to continue making a living.

This fundraiser is being put out to ask for financial help in any amount to help get Randy’s tools and supplies back.  With all of the hard work he has done and continues to strive for, it is hard to accept that something like this would happen to such a good person. He is shy about reaching out and asking for help, so I am reaching out for him. Any amount of donation would be so greatly appreciated, and there are some great gifts for those who donate! Fortunately he still has his screen printer and some paintings still available from Santa Fe Indian Market.

Here is a list of the items that were stolen estimated at $4000:
A brand new 5000 watt generator
Air compressor
2 nail guns
2 drills
2 heavy duty staple guns
2 miter saws
Extension cords and hoses
Nikon D3100 Digital Camera including battery and memory cards
Ion Block Rocker portable speaker
Ghetto blaster boombox
Paint markers, paint, and many other art supplies

His family and I just want to help get him back on track and in good spirits again. Any and all help will mean the world to him. Thank you so much !!
