Road to Remission

In the last 18 months that I have been in a constant state of flare from Ulcerative Colitis, I have been overwhelmed by offers of help without knowing of an outlet for them. Severely limited by diet and activity, offers of homemade meals were denied, to the dismay of genuinely generous offerers. Enter GoFundMe.com.
Since then, several huge bills have arrived from my week-long stint in the hospital, my many visits and tests at doctor's offices, my UC-caused arthritic adjustments, and my monthly infusions, and our situation has changed. With only one minimal income coming in from my husband's government job, the output from my medical bills alone makes our options for treatment and remission limited due to our financial circumstance.
Emory Hospital: February 2016

In the next few months, we will have to face the decision of surgery; a year-long, three-stage process that could repair my quality of life permanently, and may be necessary to avoid fatal complications. That decision may be made for us though, if we are unable to pay the bills we currently face.
We will find a way, but anything you contribute will make our struggle more surmountable, as it will go directly to our medical burden. I will update this page with my medical status as it changes, but please reach out if you would like any further information about my illness, our treatment options, or otherwise.
Thank you for taking your time to consider our situation, even if you are unable to contribute.
