Hi I'm Thom, I'm a black non-binary femme DC native organizer involved with various mutual aid and activist orgs located in the DC/MD metro area. I’m reaching out to raise supportive funds as my household confronts multiple financial stressors during a difficult time.

This past month I have been unable to work due to a serious injury from a recent car accident and an unrelated illness that left me bedridden. I also currently have a, so far, benign lesion in my throat which I am in the process of receiving treatment for. On top of these stressors I am also prepping to attend college. Without a financial safety net, the cost of my sudden health emergencies and income reduction have resulted in my household falling behind on our electricity bill repayment.

These healthcare and housing costs have compounded with my family’s existing need for financial support to get diagnostic testing for our beloved cat Putter who has been throwing up and rapidly losing weight.

Adding to these burdens, the IRS has sent an unanticipated notice of tax debt that needs to be repaid unless I am able to successfully appeal, and rent is still due while I am debilitated by my injuries.
