Help Repair A Peruvian Senior Home.

Donation protected
Dear Family & Friends, I am fulfilling a life long dream of making a visit to Peru (Machu Picchu) Thursday, September 1, 2016.  During this visit, I have committed to volunteer some time at Casa Hogar Santa Maria de la Caridad, a home care located in Callao, Peru just outside of Lima.  At this home care, they identify destitute elderly people who have no families or means of support and they are committed to providing them respite from their pain, fear, and hunger in the time that remains in their lives.

A handful of ordinary people are volunteers who live at the home care 24 hours, 7 days a week.  They rescue elderly Peruvians who are homeless and have resorted to begging in order to survive or were abandon by their families.  These elderly people are brought in from sleeping on unsafe streets into a home that provides three meals a day, showers, comfortable beds, clothing, and they receive medical attention by a doctor who donates their time.  More than anything, these elderly people get to become a part of a new family with a loving atmosphere.

Peru is a beautiful country rich in culture, history, diversity and environmental beauty, but the economy is not stable enough to support it's high poverty, especially its elderly community.  Thanks to programs like Casa Hogar Santa Maria de la Caridad, they are able to ensure elderly people who are fortunate to live at the home care receive the best care until their last days on earth.

One of the reasons why I'm going to volunteer some time at this home care is because I've learned from a close friend that they struggle day to day finding funds to repair broken plumbing inside the home, repair cracking ceramic tile flooring, repair or replace furniture and the continuation of up keeping a home that provides shelter for 50+ human beings.  Back in 1997, I studied in Cuernavaca, Mexico.  A few friends and I volunteered at an orphanage called "Los Niños de la Calle."  I will never forget what a difference our little time made to those children.  The elderly people I will visit at this Peruvian home care are fortunate to be in the care of loyal care takers, but they are in desperate need of money to aide in the up keeeping of their home and also to purchase food and other supplies.

Please consider making a donation to my campaign to help improve the living conditions at Casa Hogar Santa Maria de la Caridad.  I will post photos of the home's current condition on my Facebook account.  I thank you for taking the time to read my cause and  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your consideration.

No Day But Today,
Frank A. Celaya

P.S. It would also mean a lot to me if you can share this campaign.  Thank you...
