On a sunny California day in late September, Pam was on her way to her usual Starbucks run for her morning cup of coffee. She was on familiar roads, walking swiftly toward her destination, as she did every day, carrying just enough coins for a small coffee.  She waited at the usual intersection and when the light changed, she stepped into the crosswalk and was hit by an SUV going 40 mph. The driver went through the red light leaving Pam with two broken legs and a fractured pelvis.  It was this moment that would forever change our Mom's life. After two lengthy back-to-back surgeries, her legs and pelvis are held together with numerous rods, screws, and pins. Through initial CT and subsequent PET scans, she was also diagnosed with a tumor in her right lung. Pam is alone; there is no family with her in Sacramento. She has been positive throughout this debilitating tragedy and "sings" to pass the time.  She needs multiple levels of care, physical therapy, skilled nursing, and cancer treatment.  Please help our Mom relocate back to the East Coast, where she will be with her family to receive the necessary treatment for the best chance of hopefully walking again.  Please help her in her long, painstaking journey.  Pam has a long road ahead, but her "song is strong."  Thank you so very much for your well wishes and help.
