Steve and Pam Smith, along with their family, are very well known in Osceola, Arkansas. They have devoted their lives to God and education. Each year, Steve and Pam, along with their children, Lance and Loren, vacation in Branson, Missouri. This year, on Thursday, July 19, while there on vacation, Steve, a retired educator, boarded Stretch Duck 07 with his fifteen year old son and fourteen year old daughter to take a tour of Table Rock Lake. Pam, also an educator, stayed behind to do some shopping. A storm swept in and the duck boat capsized and sank, killing 17 of the 31 people aboard, including Steve and Lance. Loren made it out with a concussion.
The Smith family are some of the most generous people I know. The Smith's attended Osceola Church of Christ, where Steve was a Deacon. The Sunday before the accident, Lance delivered a devotional to the church on leadership and leading by example. It is time for our community to band together and give back to Pam, Loren, Carroll, and Lorene. This money will given to Pam & Loren Smith. Steve Smith obituary Lance Smith obituary
