Help Our Parvo Pups

On January 27, 2018 we welcomed 23 dogs into our rescue, many of them being puppies. In rescue you never know what will happen. We hope for the best and try to expect the unexpected.
Unfortunately on Sunday morning we discovered one of our pups, Rhona, was sick and was confirmed parvo positive. Parvovirus is a very contagious and aggressive virus that takes the lives of many puppies each year! Thankfully her wonderful foster noticed signs early and with quick treatment at an emergency vet clinic, she is getting better as each day passes.
Today we discovered 3 more of our pups that came, Bruno, Rayna, and Frank, are now all showing similar symptoms. They have also tested parvo positive. They are currently at the vet getting 24hour treatment.
It is very possible that others exposed could also show symptoms over the course of the next week or two. Once exposed it can take anywhere from 4-12 days to show any symptoms!
Parvo is an extremely costly disease. Dogs affected with parvo must remain in 24 hour vet care with IV fluids and medications until they are symptom free. The absolute minimum hospital stay, once parvo positive, is about 3 days- and that is best case scenario. Average cost for parvo treatment is $1000-$1200 per pup. At the moment our cost is estimated to reach $5000-6000 total.
So here we are, asking you to please help us save these dogs! We need help making up the cost of their growing vet bills. Any amount helps, there is no donation that is too small. Rescue can’t properly function without the generous donations we receive.
