This gofundme page is for Jose Rios and his family and is setup by the Residential Committee of the Printing House Board.
Jose is one of our valued porters, a very respected and hard working staff member and a wonderful person.
His family's home, in a very small town in Mexico called Puebla, was flattened and destroyed in the recent earthquake in Mexico. His mother and father lived there, and since the earthquake, they had been living on a street in front of the home for two weeks. They now are with many, many extended relatives in a tiny house in another small town in Mexico, a very long distance from their original home.
Puebla is getting almost no recovery efforts directed toward it, and will not receive any in the near future, as the bigger cities receive attention first.
Jose has not asked us to do this, in fact, he does not even know about it, but he is visibly affected by what has happened, and we'd like to help.
While he sends money home all the time, he doesn't have enough money to provide real financial relief for rebuilding the family home or for his parents to move to a liveable space or address basic needs.
If possible, please make a contribution of any size you can. Anything you can donate will go a long way in helping restore a secure living space for his mother and father.
