In February of this year, after talking about it for a few years now, my fiance Michael Soots and I decided to build a food truck. He has worked as a Chef and a Caterer for years and I have worked as a cook also and this is something we have wanted to do for a very long time. We purchased a trailer but due to multiple financial setbacks, having to purchase a new vehicle and expenses for our kids, we could not afford to put enough money into materials and equipment to get started so we decided to trade the empty trailer for a hot dog cart and spent every dime we had to buy a supplies to get started so we can make some money to get by on for now and try to save what we can to put toward a food truck.
So far it is going well but we are very limited with what we can do and serve since it is such a small operation and in order to serve freshly prepared and raw foods, you must have a commissary building and/or an enclosed area to prepare food.
Our goal is to save as much money as we possibly can from the hot dog cart sales so we can build a food truck and be able to travel and serve food in Indiana and Kentucky and to cater parties and other events year round, but with limited income and only being able to run the hot dog cart in the Summer and Fall, we won't be able to make it happen before Winter and the past several Winters have been very rough for us.
I have never asked for help like this before and was very reluctant to reach out, but we could really use a hand up at this time now more than ever. Any and all donations are appreciated more than you will ever know and every $1 helps. I would truly appreciate your well wishes also. Thank you all so much.
