If you know our dad Jack, the man is indescribable . But for those of you that don't really know him, he is the jolliest, outgoing, hardworking, most selfless big man that you will ever come across. He would do anything for anyone and it's time that we return the favor.
- What happened? A few weeks ago tragedy struck our family as our dad unknowingly had a two-inch tear in his colon and was rushed to the emergency room and require 5 hours of life saving surgery. At that time, he had about a 40 percent chance of survival and was life flighted to a larger hospital in Salt Lake City for a higher level of intensive care post surgery. Our dad then spent the next 10 days in intensive care and then another week at the hospital as he had to relearn basic functions such as sitting up, walking, bending over etc. THANKFULLY, he is now home yet bedridden for the next few weeks while he continues to rehab and heal. Unfortunately, our dad will require another surgery to reattach his colon from the section removed in order to save his life. This is going to put him out of work for approximately six months. ;(
- What will your money be used for?
As you can see from the pictures, our dad's love, passion and livelihood is carpentry and construction. He has been a master of the craft for over 40 years which has allowed him to provide a comfortable life for him and his family. With this being said, he is a self-employed, single, small business owner that relies on working every day in order to make ends meet. This unfortunate and unexpected injury will prevent him from working a minimum of six months and he has no way of making his payments without the help of his family, friends and considerate others. His estimated monthly overhead is more than $5,000 to cover his basic necessities and bills. We are asking your help to raise more than $25,000 cover his costs and expenses for the six months while he is recovering and unable to work. Without your help, he could be facing the loss of both his business and his home.
Our dad is a very strong fighter, and we know that he will eventually survive this horrible obstacle that has been put before him. Anything that you can donate will greatly help him and his family overcome this financial set back.
