On behalf of our brother, Ron Phelps, we are asking for your love, prayers, and financial support. Ron has been working with his department as a peace officer since 1997, protecting and serving others, and now is in need of others to come to his aid.
Ron was diagnosed with a fairly aggressive form of head and neck cancer that he has been tirelessly battling for several years. At first, he chose not to use conventional treatments of chemo, radiation, and surgery because of its harmful and debilitating side effects. Instead, he has been using various alternative treatments. Unfortunately, the treatments have not worked thus far. As the cancer steadily progressed, he decided with great hesitation and reflection, to undergo radiation treatment in conjunction with hyperthermia. Sadly, all that did was severely burn his mouth and throat, as well as damage his face and salivary glands. It was extremely painful and debilitating to say the least. A couple of years later he is still trying to manage around the damaging effects of the radiation. Every day is a challenge, yet he is still determined.
Since then, he has continued with alternative treatments, keeping his body as healthy as possible, while still in search of and researching the latest therapies that could eventually turn out to be the cure that he's been looking for. All these years of wellness and cancer therapies have cost him an absolute fortune.
His battle against cancer has been a long, distressing road and traveling with extreme pain has been the norm of the day. Ron, however, has found a ray of hope at a cancer center located in California, where he is currently receiving alternative treatments. Of course, this center is not covered by his insurance and is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. He must also endure a long commute to get there and back.
Ron is a private and independent person who would never ask for financial assistance on his own behalf. Now that his situation has greatly worsened, as his family, we are taking it upon ourselves to ask for your help and support. Without your help, Ron may likely be unable to continue with his current treatments. Please help make 2015 the year that Ron wins his fight!
A donation of any amount, no matter how small, along with your love and prayers, would be deeply appreciated. Our family thanks you in advance for your generosity and kindness toward our brother's cause.
