Prayers & Help NEEDED
Without a huge back story on me, my name is Kat and I am 23. I have multiple, sometimes life-threatening chronic illnesses that affect my daily life. Because these illnesses leave me disabled, my mom stays home to be my caretaker. She is an amazing mom, caretaker and best friend who always puts others needs ahead of her own. But right now, she needs help and I’m hoping y’all will help her.
My mom’s health has been slowly declining the last couple of years. This past year has been difficult because her symptoms started worrying us and we knew she needed to see a doctor, but she doesn’t have insurance. We’ve been having to pay for doctors appointments and testing out of pocket. The last test was a nuclear stress test and found that she has a blockage in the lower left part of her heart. The cardiologist feels she is currently at a high risk of having a heart attack. She now needs an Angiogram which is a procedure where they will go into her heart with a catheter, remove the blockage and place stents.
Up until now, we’ve been able to plan the doctors appointment or test months ahead of time to try to save up the couple of hundred dollars but with the procedure, it’s different. Because she is at a high risk of a heart attack, the cardiologist wants to do the procedure ASAP. And even with the cash price and doctor discounts, it is going to be $6,500 and the procedure is scheduled for Thursday. They are asking for 80% up front so we might have to reschedule.
Right now, we just can’t afford that. But this is for my mom’s life. Her love and presence is priceless and there isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do for her. So now, despite her being embarrassed of me asking, I’m coming to our online family. I wouldn’t come to y’all if we had any other choice and I also know a lot of y’all would be upset to know we were struggling and didn’t ask for help. Any help will truly help save her life and I will be eternally grateful.
