Hi everyone,

I never thought I would be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but my dog Oreo has eye cancer - mast cell tumour growing in his left eye and unfortunately the recommended treatment is urgent surgery to remove the affected eye in order to prevent the cancer from spreading.

An ophthalmologist has quoted us $5070.88 for the surgery and we're going to be needing medication and post surgery care. I have already spent over $2000 on vet appointments and medicine and we could really use some help from community and friends to make sure Oreo gets the treatment he deserves.

Oreo is a 7 year old husky lab and he came into my life 5 years ago when he was 2, I rescued him in Sault St. Marie Ontario when I was driving out to British Colombia. His previous owners didn’t want him anymore and I fell in love with him right away and knew he was my dog. We travelled together, went on many adventures and he became an extension of my being, my shadow, my protector, my best friend and baby boy. This is really devastating for me and I am not the type of person to ask for help but I’m doing this for Oreo because I cannot fathom losing him and not doing everything in my power to help him get better.
