I started caring for Mimis 3 years ago. She is 15 now. Mimis has had a heart murmur for a long time. She collapsed for the first time in February, so we went to the vet, and she was diagnosed with advanced heart disease. She was put on two new meds to help with her heart. They help immensely, but they also make her feel sick and not want to eat. We've had to start force-feeding her with a syringe so she can take her heart medicines. It's hard to force-feed her, and I know she hates it, but she needs her meds. Recently, she was prescribed an anti-nausea medication and an appetite stimulant to help with her food intake. The new meds are very expensive, but they're working! It's been a huge relief to see her eating again. But the new monthly expense for all her medications is $432. She's responding well to the new combination of meds, but it's getting harder for me to pay for all of them on my own. I don't want my financial situation to be the reason why she's not getting the help she needs and deserves. She is such a good girl, and she's my best friend. She still has a good quality of life right now because of those medications, but without them, she would decline quickly. I want to do everything in my power to help her, and now this includes asking for your help.
