Help a Disabled Individual Travel

Thank you for stopping by to view my cause. My name is Mike and I have a developmental disability. My disability requires me to have the assistance of another individual with my daily activities. I live with Geoff, who is my host home provider, and have lived with him for over 7 years. Geoff and his fiance are getting married this summer on an Alaskan cruise. I would love more than anything to help them celebrate and experience this wonderful trip. As an adult, I have not had many travel experiences because of my special needs. In order for me to attend I will need to have someone who understands my needs and travel with me to assist me. I work through a supported employment service and have saved enough money for me to travel and attend Geoff's wedding. Unfortunately, I am still in need of funds to finance the cost of a travel companion. The money raised would specifically go to paying for the cruise, flight, and hotels for my travel companion. My service providers are willing to assist me to find someone else who is trained and understands my needs, however I need to raise money to pay for this travel companion. My final payment for my trip is due April 10th and I am hoping that there are individuals out there that can help sponsor me. I have worked really hard the last several months to save money to go on this chance of a lifetime trip and hope that I am still able to go.

This trip is very special to me as I have not had many travel opportunities as an adult because of my special needs. Going to Alaska would give me the opportunity to visit an untouched area of the US and celebrate with my host home provider of who I have lived with for so long. I also enjoy photography and would enjoy expanding my talents by taking pictures of wildlife and glaciers.
