Superstar, world mover Michelle Patterson has been diagnosed with stage 4, metastatic breast cancer. You’ve watched (and probably helped) her found and produce festivals, conferences, car rallies, workshops and 70s parties. She’s been your family member, best friend, business partner, confidant, cheerleader and recruiter. She’s made you an active, devoted member of committees and boards you didn’t even KNOW you wanted to be a part of!

Across decades and innumerable causes, one thing has remained consistent: my mom has never stopped raising money for charity and empowering women. She’s an advocate for so many, and has probably, at one time or another, been an advocate for you.

It’s with a pained heart I come to tell you my mom’s presence on this earth is threatened by her diagnosis. Over the past year and a half since receiving her diagnosis, I have watched the strongest, most influential woman I know lose 70lb (that she didn’t have to lose), throw up incessantly, writhe on the floor in pain and be barely able to get out of bed many mornings.

Despite this, she still shows up for the causes and people she cares about. Through her pain and exhaustion, my mom has produced 88 podcast episodes, ran a company, and put out a website. Michelle Patterson style, she hasn’t given up. She continues to rally the troops, and she doesn’t complain.

Six months ago, without warning, the company my mom works for stopped paying her salary. She continued to work, but without means for paying, she was forced to opt out of certain treatments for financial concerns. A few days ago, she had her worse PET scan results yet. The cancer has grown and spread. It’s currently in her breasts, bones, lymphnodes and back.

However, the cancer has not spread to my mom’s organs and she remains optimistic. She wants to get back on track with her planned treatments and start targeted radiation. That’s why we’re asking for your financial support.
