Urgent time sensitive financial help needed for a Black/Indigenous Berlin mother!!
**UPDATE! Michelle recently tested positive for COVID 19. She has been in isolation and lost more work and income.**
Michelle has become a friendly familiar face in Berlin over the past years. She is a member of The BSWC(black sex worker collective), and a part of our performance community, you will always see her big warm smile in the crowd or onstage at many burlesque and drag events around town.
Unfortunately Michelle has been quietly facing many difficulties and is currently in financial crisis after a series of devastating events.
Michelle was born in the US army base in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
After 4 years her family moved back to North Carolina, USA where
she grew up with her Cherokee father and multiracial mother,
she had two children very young who remain in America with family.
In 2017 after having her third baby, she had to flee an extremely abusive relationship
with the childs father and secure a safe home for her and her small daughter.
Her best friend took them to his family in Beirut, Lebanon, but since Michelle was born
in Germany they soon decided to come to Berlin to settle.
Since then she has faced much hardship with housing, work, and visa struggles.
This led to her best friend taking her daughter back to Lebanon for a period where he and his
family could provide a more stable housing and schooling situation. This was to be temporary
while Michelle got on her feet here.
She spent the following period travelling back and forth to Lebanon for visits, while working and
bouncing between WGs.
Things were finally settling into place when Covid struck. She lost her job, went on to Hartz
4(benefits), and Michelle has since been unable to visit her daughter due to Lebanons Covid
regulations. While still supporting financially as much as she can, Michelle has not been able to
physically see her now 7 year old daughter for a year.
Due to the work loss she fell behind on student debt repayments and had to go into overdraw on
her German bank account leaving her with an additional large debt.
In the midst of all of this Michelle recently required an urgent surgery.
Years ago she had a breast augmentation after breastfeeding her youngest daughter.
The implant she had in her right breast ruptured badly, she discovered these specific implants
had been recalled as they are dangerous to health, but the cost of replacing it was only covered
if it exploded during surgery, or if she went back to America which at this time would be more
costly and almost impossible with Covid.
The surgery was urgent as the toxins from the implant
were leaking into her entire body causing an infection and spreading in to her lymph nodes
She has now been footed with a 7500 Euro bill to cover this urgent operation.
There are 3 things needed here:
1) Funds to cover this medical bill
2) A secure home in Berlin which she can bring her daughter to live in
3) Funds to secure a new home
