My mission is to become a leading expert on safety and performance for youth and adolescent athletes, particularly for cheerleading, tumbling and gymnastics.
My journey started by enrolling at California University of Pennsylvania's bachelor's program, in which I studied diligently to graduate with honors. I also became certified as a National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer and Youth Exercise Specialist. I might have buried myself in student loans, but I completed my first hurdle in my journey.
I have just now started my next step towards my mission by enrolling in a Master's of Science program specializing in exercise science, injury prevention, and sports performance.
Unfortunately, I have hit a snag...
Although I applied for a scholarship that would have fully paid for my master's program (in which I was one of the top candidates), I was not chosen as the winner this year's award. To make matters worse, the federal financial aid that I was awarded does not cover my tuition for this upcoming semester.
It's VERY rare for me to ask for help, but I am begging you, my friends, family, athletes, and parents, to help not only me but also all of the athletes who will benefit from what I learn.
I would appreciate any contribution. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Matthew Faherty NASM-CPT
