I’m terrified to ask you for money.
Asking for money makes me inferior, shows that I lack integrity and demonstrates a lack of desire to work hard for an outcome.
These beliefs have stunted my growth for too long.
I am on Day #20 of a #365 Day Face my Fears Challenge. I have to take action every time I feel afraid of something, and so here I am asking you for money because I am scared to do so.
My name is Lee Davy. I am the host of the Alcohol & Addiction podcast, the creator of the Truth About Alcohol and the leader of the Strive movement. In 2009, I became someone that doesn't drink alcohol and took a vow to inspire people to do the same.
I have learned plenty in those nine years; most importantly that the more skills and experience I possess, the likelier I am to effect a broader audience. 44% of people who take the Truth About Alcohol training course finish, against the industry standard of just 5%. Three months after finishing the course the alumni show a 66% success rate when it comes to being someone that doesn't drink alcohol, and the 34% that drink do so in a very different way than before they joined.
I want to improve those numbers and think Seth Godin's AltMBA will help me to do so.
The thought of joining his four-week workshop terrifies me, so I have to do it. During those four weeks, I will learn to ship 13-products. The ability to overcome obstacles, and adopt a growth mindset is at the core of the learning experience, and this allows me to help more people.
Alcohol kills 3.3 million people a year (more than war, terrorism and homicide combined) and it's a causal factor in over 200 illnesses and diseases.
Please help me reduce this number.
