Help Me Heal Young Minds Through Horse Therapy

Hi there,

I'm Moira. Thank you so much for visiting my page. I know there are many causes out there, so your time and attention mean the world to me. I have come to this platform as a very last resource for my current financial challenge. And time is a crucial factor.

I am a Canadian who has been offered a spot on a professional Master's program in Psychotherapy in England. I chose England because it is my current home and this program is only one year. My career goal is to become a licensed Psychotherapist with a focus on helping children grow through equine-assisted therapy. This is the amazing process of using interactions with horses for emotional development (see image/video link).

Why I Need Your Help

Like many, I was counting on government student loans to pay for my tuition. Unfortunately, I recently found out I do NOT qualify for student loans because I've been out of my home country more than six months, and am not a resident (this rule was completely unknown to me!) Nor can I get approved for any bank loan as I cannot find a cosigner.

I have savings to pay for all living expenses, just not the tuition. I am actively applying for scholarships and currently working in online education to save as much as I can. I do not want to reject my program offer, as I cannot defer my space.

I have turned to this platform as a last chance in hopes of raising CAD 46, 500 (see image above) to pay for school fees and the mandatory 450 supervised practice hours. I need to raise this amount by, August 5th, to show proof of funds for my student visa approval.

My Story

I am especially drawn to working with children suffering from depression and anxiety, a cause that is deeply personal to me. I hope to do this work through both, traditional talk and equine- assisted therapy, as they compliment each other. I have been working in the field for two years assisting and observing this amazing process between horse and human.

For a long time, I struggled to find my calling. It wasn’t until I began my own mental health journey that I discovered how powerful and transformative therapy could be. That experience not only helped me heal—it gave me direction.
