Learning Today to Educate Tomorrow
Donation protected
Have you ever wanted an opportunity to help someone make their dreams come true? Well here is a chance to help a Bridgewater State College student make her dreams come true. I am an Early Childhood and Spanish major who is very passionate about educating the young mind and making sure they’re always hungry for more knowledge.
With your help in raising this money I will have the opportunity to observe classrooms for two weeks and learning from professionals, the unique thing about this learning experience is that the classrooms are in Cape Verde. For those who don’t know Cape Verde is made of ten small islands off the west coast of Africa. The two islands we will be visiting are Santiago and Fogo. Not only will I be learning about education systems in other countries but we will also be visiting historical sites in those countries.
There’s more to this dream coming true other than my educational benefits. I am first generation Cape Verdean American and both sides of my family come from the beautiful island. Fogo is where my mother’s family is from and where both my grandparents were born and raised. I personally have never been there and was told by my grandfather that one day we would go together. My grandfather recently passed in January 2015 and to be able to accomplish this goal with him watching from above will be the icing on the cake, not only will I be visiting the island but it will also give me the opportunity to visit his grave.
Being a college student and working to pay for school and daily expenses I know our economy is not the greatest at the moment and that’s why I’m not asking for too much. Every penny counts and if that’s all you can donate it’s a penny that will go further than you think, it will go as far as making me one penny closer to making a dream come true. Thank you all for your time and donations and I promise to share the experience and the knowledge I gain from this trip.
