Help Matt Beat Aplastic Anemia
Donation protected
Matt Laakso and his wife Kaitlin got married less than a year ago. They were starting their life together as a family when Matt got sick. Matt has Aplastic Anemia - a rare and serious condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. Aplastic Anemia patients feel fatigued and have a higher risk of life-threatening infections and bleeding.
Matt and Kaitlin are currently living away from home in Ottawa where Matt receives weekly blood transfusions in combination with drug treatments while he waits for a bone morrow transplant.
Matt and Kaitlin's family and friends want to do anything they can to help and are asking you to give any amount you can afford - $5, $10, $100 will go a long way if enough people contribute.
The money raised will go right to Matt and Kaitlin to help with their medical and living expenses while dealing with this illness and its treatment. There are a significant amount of costs the couple needs to cover including: accommodations near the hospital, travel, medication, hospital costs such as parking, the expense of their mortgage in Thunder Bay and loss of wages.
We want them to receive as much help as possible so that when Matt receives the transplant and recovers from this fight they can move on with their lives without the burden of enormous debt. Their second year of marriage should be easier and happier than the first!
Please contribute what you can and share our campaign with as many people as possible! Matt and Kaitlin are such an amazing couple who bravely live this nightmare day by day and somehow still have smiles on their faces. They love each other so much and want to continue their lives together, healthy, for many, many years to come. Let's help them do that!
