MEET LEO! Or more formally known as Leonidas Oliver Duke Mabey! Leo is a dog who was once a puppy, but most importantly Leo is my sister's best friend. Leo is a "golden doodle"(Golden Retriever/ Poodle mix) and we adopted him when he was just a pup. 
His birth day is April 13th, 2009 meaning that he turned 7 this year - but he still has as much energy as a puppy! He loves to go on walks with his mom (my sister Megan) and play at the park,he loves to cuddle and nap with anyone who will snuggle with him (including having sleepovers), and he is gentle and kind to everyone he meets (people and animals alike)!The family adopted Leo a little less than one year after Megan's car accident, where she was ejected from the car, recieved a head injury & a large burn on her leg, and broke her back. After her accident, Megan was depressed and her self-esteem was beyond low. Leo's adoption and addition to the family ended up being a miracle for Megan. He got her up and out of the house, going on new adventures and making her smile again.But when times were tough, Leo also helped her through her sadness.  Leo has been Megan's one consistant happiness for the past seven years. He has become part of the family, and knows when people are down and how to make them smile. He celebrate holidays with us, and birthdays, goes on vacations with us, and tells us he loves us.Now it is our turn to love on him - Leo started limping last week so Megan took him to the vet. We have been told that Leo has bone cancer in his leg. Being that he is in the 7-10 age range there is a better outlook, but with that being said Leo is going to have to have his leg amputated this week and start recieving chemotherapy to fight off any further cancer spread in his body. With all of this, Leo has also been put on some pain medications to help him not hurt so much.So, this GoFundMe is to help a girl's best friend fight his battle with bone cancer. The money will go towards the medical bills that will help Leo - from x-rays, bloodwork and pain medications, to the amputation surgery and chemotherapy. Leo is a tough guy and we really think he can win this fight!
