As many of you may know, I have been interested in pursuing a career in healing work for some time. It started with pre med in college, but that path didn't feel sincere and was often discouraged with the less than awesome results from my hard efforts. I also pursued birth work as a doula for a bit, but felt that a lifestyle of being on call didn't quite suit that of a 23 year old with other commitments. Most recently I have been drawn to pursue massage therapy school, as a stepping stone towards continuing in a direction of healing work. However, after four years of college, I have arrived here at this point in time with over $30,000 dollars in student debt. Massage school is $6500, which is much more feasible, but only if I pay in full up front, otherwise it is an additional $1000. You might be able to understand why I feel great hesitation in accruing even more dept on top of what I am currently sitting on. Thus, I feel inclined to ask my community and family and greater family and friends and distant admirers and strangers alike if they might feel moved to make a donation towards this next step.
Here's how it breaks down. I have been able to raise $3000 up to now and am hoping to make another $500. My mom has agreed to loan me $1500 (that I will pay back in the next year), which leaves another $1500 to go. All money raised will go directly towards meeting this goal.
However! In order to pay the price of $6500 for the program, I will need to have it in full by December 6th, the first day of class. So that gives us a little over 3 weeks to get there!
The program is only one year long and I will be able to specialize in women's, pre natal and post natal therapies, thus continuing my work in the area of birth and women's health, but with a different approach this time. So in just one year, I will be embarking on what I hope will be the beginning of a many layered career path in health and healing.
What's more is, I would like to offer message therapy treatments in return for your kind donations as soon as I start my schooling program! For each dollar, I will offer two minutes of massage work! However, your first dollar is an automatic 5 minutes! So please don't hesitate to sign up for sessions with me. Starting as soon as January.
My Birthday is in December folks, the day after Christmas. And all I want for Christmas or my birthday is a donation, in whatever amount you feel! Even if it's a buck, it will be very much appreciated! I couldn't be more grateful for your support!!
