Help leg amputee
Donation protected
I am raising money for my step Father-in-law, Luke Jones.
Luke was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of three. Over the years of battling this horrible disease, he developed neuropathy and later being diagnosed with Charcot Foot in both feet, yes both feet which is extremely rare. (Charcot is a rare disease that attacks the bones, joints, and soft tissues in your foot). Luke has walked with crow walkers for years and a cyst began developing deep within his left foot. The cyst was removed and was healing well. However, over time the growth came back.
Due to a fever on May 11, 2020 his primary doctor advised him to go to the Emergency Room, expecting him to be tested for Covid due to him having a fever. Luke was Covid negative, but he learned that the growth in his foot had caused complications and with the Charcot, would have to be amputated. As if an amputation isn't a life change inning of itself, three days after the amputation, he was standing in an attempt to transfer with a hospital worker and he fell. The fall broke his right leg and foot. He has since had two surgeries on his right leg, putting pins and rods in the leg and foot in hopes that the leg will heal properly and sustain him in learning to walk with a prosthetic months from now.
Luke is an avid motorcycle enthusiast, gamer, and family man.
Funds raised will go towards Luke's medical expenses, transportation costs, and loss of wages.
