Kinion's Memorial Fund

Donation protected
I just want to take a minute to tell you my brother's story. Growing up, Kinion was always the most creative one in the family. I remember hoping that one day I would be as good as he was with Legos. Now I am 23 and he is 24 and he was far better with them when he was 7 than I am now. Before graduating high school, he had already designed and built his own bedframe that had a desk built in to it. Most of the time, he was a very quiet guy and a very good listener, however, once you got to know him, you would find that he is actually quite talkative. You could ask anyone that had ever met him, he has always had a heart of gold and is a genuinely good person who would always be willing to help out. In 2008, he led a project to replace a dangerous panel in the Bokchito Community Pavilion. Later that same year, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Back in March 2014, he was diagnosed with Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Basically, it's a scarring of the kidney's that causes a whole slew of other issues with the rest of his body including edema (water being deposited throughout his body causing extreme swelling), and a dangerous loss of protein. The edema has made moving around very difficult for him, due to this, much of his muscle has atrophied. During most of this journey, he has been unable to work due to being either hospitalised or too weak to move on his own. It breaks my heart to see my brother, who has always been stronger than me, need my help to simply walk across the room. Over the past year, he's been in and out of the hospital accruing massive medical bills. He has insurance through his employer, but he was 100% denied.

Kinion was admitted to Texoma Medical Center on February 9, 2015 and, as of this writing, is still there. The doctors have said that they should transfer him to a hospital in either Oklahoma City or Dallas for better facilities. However, since he does not have insurance that will cover it, he may not be able to make it into one of these hospitals because of his lack of ability to pay.

Throughout all of this, the bills have not ceased and our family is stretched very thin as it is. Over the past year, all the members of our family, with the exception of myself, have been hospitalised, all without insurance. Kinion has amassed over $50,000 in hospital bills and that number is only going up.

As a family, we are asking you for help to save our brother and son. No donation is too small, anything helps. Even a single dollar is tiny bit of weight off of our shoulders. If you are unable to contribute financially, please pray for him. If you made it this far, thank you for reading and God bless you.
