Help Kimmy Kick Cancer

Hi, I’m Kimmy Kruskamp.

In September 2024, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. At the time of diagnosis, the cancer had already spread extensively to my liver and bones. I was hospitalized with acute liver failure caused by tumor burden and was told I might have only a week to live.

In January 2025, the cancer progressed rapidly to my brain, with innumerable metastatic tumors involving both hemispheres. From a medical standpoint, this was a life-threatening and catastrophic progression.

I underwent whole brain radiation and multiple systemic therapies. By God’s mercy and the effectiveness of treatment, I survived.

I am currently receiving Enhertu every three weeks for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. As of my most recent treatment on December 9, 2025, I am clinically stable and responding. My blood counts are normal and safe for chemotherapy. My liver function, once critically impaired, is now stable, with only mild elevations and a normal bilirubin.

Recent imaging reflects continued disease control. An October 2025 brain MRI shows no new metastatic disease and only a few tiny residual spots that continue to improve. A CT scan from the same period shows liver lesions that are slightly smaller, stable bone metastases, and no new areas of cancer.

From a medical perspective, this is not cure. The goal of treatment is disease control and life prolongation. But from a faith perspective, this is nothing short of mercy.

I continue to experience fatigue, mild nausea, and some short-term memory impairment from brain radiation, but I remain functional and able to continue treatment as planned. I also receive bone-strengthening therapy to reduce fracture risk and ongoing cardiac monitoring due to the nature of HER2-targeted drugs.

Throughout this journey, I have had to step away from the full-time work I’m used to- multiple candates- to one or two- in order to survive. That decision, though necessary, created ongoing financial strain. Cancer treatment does not pause bills. It requires sustained medical care, frequent imaging, prescriptions, travel, and daily living support. And at a steep price of 40k each treatment… no words.

Scripture tells us that life is a gift, measured not by certainty but by faith. Each scan, each infusion, and each new day is something I receive with gratitude and humility.

This fundraiser exists to help carry the practical burden of a prolonged and serious illness while I continue treatment and rebuild what I can. It allows me to remain compliant with care, reduce stress, and focus on living the life God has preserved.

If you feel led to support me financially, share this page, or pray for continued stability and strength, I am deeply grateful. Your generosity has already carried me further than I was ever expected to go.

With faith and gratitude,
Kimmy
