Help Kelsey Walk Again: Support Her Recovery
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Kelsey and my health started declining in November of 2023 when out of nowhere I was unable to eat any food without being in horrible pain in my stomach. I went to three different doctors and was finally diagnosed with Gastroparesis in April of 2024. I lost 30 pounds while waiting for my diagnosis and became so weak. On May 19th of 2024 my right leg gave out while I was standing on flat concrete outside of my apartment, I fell very hard and broke the bones on the top of my foot and rolled my ankle. When my bones and ankle healed on the inside, I still could not walk, my leg muscles started dying (atrophy) and I couldn’t find a doctor or specialist that could figure out why this was happening. It wasn’t until October of 2024 that I found my current surgeon that specializes in my chronic condition, CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) which is a Neurological condition that causes debilitating pain. My nervous system tells my brain to not send blood to my entire right leg. My leg is cold at all times, I am constantly in pain and can barely walk let alone bear weight on my leg for more than a minute or two. Even sitting upright causes pain so holding down a job is off the table for right now. I am currently trying to get approved for assistance with disability in my state, but it has been a long road and they have denied me twice over the past year since I broke my foot and this all happened. My current doctor and surgeon placed a temporary spinal stimulator for a week back in February, and this was the only thing that has helped, and should eventually get me back to walking. My permanent stimulator surgery has been put off due to a clerical error, and I may be looking at another month until I can have the surgery. Once I get the surgery I should be approved for disability, but the problem is getting through until that happens, and there is no guarantee as to when that will happen after the surgery. I had help with my bills for the last few months, but am no longer receiving any help from anyone to keep my apartment or pay monthly bills. I just need a little help to make it through until I can get back to work or my disability comes through. It will be months of learning to walk again and getting my leg back to where I can hold weight, am not in pain, and can finally walk normally again, so I am hopeful I will be approved for disability and that I will only need this fundraiser for maybe two or three months. I will post a break down of my bills, and I am only including what is absolutely necessary to keep my place to live and be able to talk to my doctors and lawyer. I understand times are tough for everyone, so I only ask that if you cannot donate then to please share this with your friends and family. Thank you to everyone for any and all help, every dollar counts!
I will also be sharing an Amazon wish list, if anyone would like to donate an item on the list, that helps immensely as well, since I don’t have money for basic necessities. Without a car or being able to walk I cannot get myself to the store even if I had money to buy things! Thank you again for any help you can give!

My leg is always different colors because there is no circulation, and since it’s always cold I have to wear a warm sock even in 90 degree weather!
