Help Keep my Dad off the Streets
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Parker Knepp, and I’m reaching out to ask for support for my father, David Knepp.
Recently, my dad was incarcerated due to a probation violation from years ago. He’ll be released in August, but he’s facing a serious challenge—he’s lost everything. His job is gone, his apartment is gone, and his credit card debt is piling up. With no savings and over $10,000 in debt, his accounts are at risk of being shut down. If that happens, he’ll have no financial foundation to rebuild when he gets out, and his credit will be completely destroyed—making it nearly impossible for him to secure housing or even basic necessities.
Unfortunately, my dad can’t stay with me again. In the past, when he was struggling, I took him in for eight months, hoping to help. But during that time, his drinking and instability created an unhealthy living situation, and it deeply affected both me and my roommates. I can’t put myself in that position again.
That being said, I don’t want to see my dad completely homeless. He needs a chance to reestablish himself, and I’m asking for help to cover his credit card minimum payments so that he has some footing when he gets out. Even small contributions will give him a way to start over and allow me to focus on my own responsibilities.
Right now, I’m at a pivotal moment in my life—I’m running two businesses, attending MSU part-time, and working as an audio engineer, a lifelong goal of mine. These next few years will define my future, and I need to stay focused to make it all happen. But this situation is weighing on me, and I don’t see an alternative other than to ask for help.
My dad has made mistakes, but he also has good in him. He’s struggled with loss and relied on the wrong coping mechanisms, and while he has a long road ahead, he just needs a little help staying afloat. If you’re able to contribute, it would mean the world to me—and to him. Thank you.
