Help Kali Recover

Hi, this is Josh and I'm writing this on behalf of our family for our sweet Kali. She has a rare disease/condition called Chilaiditi’s Syndrome. Some people are able to live with and manage it, but unfortunately Kali has a more serious form that requires surgery or it can endanger her life. We are hoping to raise some money for her medical and living expenses while she recovers from surgery.
She began getting tests in August for the terrible stomach pains she was having. After several x-rays, tests, a colonoscopy and multiple trips to the GI doctor they finally ordered a CAT scan. The results baffled a lot of doctors who then suggested she go to a surgeon. The pain has been getting worse and whenever she eats, her belly gets very swollen and she has a very difficult time being able to use the bathroom. We talked to a number of surgeons and doctors before she was ultimately diagnosed with Chilaiditi's syndrome in October.
This is an extremely rare condition where her colon is pushed up between her diaphragm and liver. Her colon is also twisted which caused a partial bowel obstruction and digestive dysmobility. The longer she waits the worse it gets. She was told that she is at risk for volvulus which means that her blood supply can be cut off and could become an immediate emergency. Every doctor we were in contact with suggested different procedures with none of them really knowing what the outcome could be due to its rarity.
As you can imagine, this has been a very scary and exhausting for her and our family who love her dearly. It has been very hard to watch her in tears everyday, in pain and barely able to eat. Every day we wonder if it will be the day we call the ambulance only to take her somewhere where they don’t even know exactly what to do.
God must have blessed us because in November I finally found a surgeon in Boston who had come across this condition and has even published an article about it. He has a very busy schedule, but deemed it urgent and scheduled surgery much sooner than we thought was possible. We believe he is our angel and are so fortunate to have found him. She will have a long road to recovery but we are very confident that our prayers have been answered with this doctor.
If you know Kali, she doesn't like to ask for help of any kind. However, it is important she stays calm through the surgery and recovery. We really think that if we can get some medical and living expenses covered it will relieve some of her stress. I'm going to work as hard as I can to do my part, but anything extra would really help. We also very much understand that times are tough and would equally appreciate your prayers at this time.
Happy Holidays,
Josh
