End of life expenses for my Father
Donation protected
My Dad, Costenzio Joseph DiCarlo, better known as Joe was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia about 4 years ago. It's been quite the experience with this horrible disease. My dad was still working about 2 1/2 years ago until they let him go because he was slowing down. Since that time he has been on a steady downward transition. At this point in time he is living in an assisted living facility. It's a great place but he needs more assistance and supervision. At this point the man who took care of me my whole life can no longer care for him self at all. He's basically just in a wheelchair now unable to walk and he's barely able to feed him self any more. He keeps falling, which is horrific. He's fallen about 10 times now. Each time he's gotten lucky and hasn't broken anything. He's under the care of Trustbridge which is better known as Hospice. They are great but don't provide around the clock care until it becomes a crisis situation. I am looking to provide an aide for him around the clock but the financial strain is astronomical and totally unrealistic to do on my own. He doesn't have much time left, I don't want him suffering in the time he does have left. He has always been an amazing Dad. Any help is very much appreciated!! Thank you
