Get Jodie a wheelchair car lift

Donation protected
Help a wonderful retired teacher and longtime Toastmaster regain her independence!

Jodie recently retired after 27 years of teaching, but in late 2016, she contracted Idiopathic Pulmonary Disease and now uses oxygen 24/7 to breathe.

Jodie, on her last day at Mesa Community College.

Jodie has only been able to find part-time employment outside her home, but it requires driving and then walking which is extremely challenging:

"When I do walk, after about 10 steps I lose my ability to breathe, then the pain in my lungs and heavy breathing begins," says Jodie.

GOOD NEWS / BAD NEWS:

The good news is that Jodie has a new Trident Front Wheel Drive Power Chair, like the one below. The problem is, she has no way to transport it on her car.

HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN:

With a little help, Jodie is hoping to purchase and install the cargo rack/transport device (below) on her car.

With your help, she will regain her independence. She'll be able to transport her motorized chair, take oxygen with her and avoid not being able to breathe.

WHY YOUR HELP IS SO IMPORTANT:

1. The rack and installing it are expensive.

2. Modifications to her car to accommodate the rack are an additional cost.

3. A seat cover to avoid burns after the seat has been in the sun has been advised and is an additional cost.

4. A cover to protect her motorized chair from rain and wind is a must, but also an additional cost.

A NEW NORMAL

The sooner she gets the lift, the healthier she will be and the sooner she will be able to work to provide for her financial needs.

And the great part - she also will be able to get out and enjoy friends and family - like you!

Thank you so much for your love and support.

This is the smile we know and love so much:
