My name is Alexis Shoemaker. I am making this Go Fund Me account for two of my very best friends, Jessica Kouzmanoff (pictured right) and Courtney Richardson (pictured left), as they are going through an extremely tough time in their life.
Jessica is a U.S. Marine. She worked at LCA and is now a server at Chilis; where she works with her girlfriend, Courtney. Jessica had been feeling very sick for the past couple months and on Friday, August 21st, she finally went to the hospital. Once at the hospital, the doctors ran some tests to find out that she may have Hodgkin Lymphoma, but for sure Lymphoma none the less. Lymphoma is cancer of the lymph nodes. She has had one bone marrow biopsy, a lymph node biopsy, an echo and will possibly start chemo on Thursday. She unfortunately doesn't have insurance. The cost of ONE doctor visit while in the hospital was $5,500, which didn't include the tests, stay or medication. The total cost of all of these tests and visits will turn out to be a large sum.
With Jessica's new diagnosis, she is unable to work in the food business because of the strong possiblity that she could get sick very easily. With that being said, Courtney is having to work to take care of ALL of their bills (doctor visits, hospital bills, rent, food, etc.) It will not be easy but they are determined to make this work.
It's never fun to watch a friend struggle or go through a tough time, especially when it is people as sweet and loving as Jessica and Courtney. ANY donation would be extremely appreciated to help pay the bills that are piling up. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and PLEASE pray <3
