Hi there! My name is Emily Kamp. I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Jared Tuszynski & his fiance', Kathrine Wortman, & her three children. Jared & I were best friends growing up & all throughout school. Even since he has moved to Florida we have still made it a point to keep in touch.
Jared moved to Cape Coral, Florida a few years ago to make some serious lifestyle changes. He was very brave to leave his hometown of Bridgman, MI which he loved along with all of his friends & family from the area. His move to Florida brought the necessary change he needed & while he missed home severely at first he made this his new home. A big part in his new-found love for Florida were Kathrine & her three children Tru (8), Matthew (6) and Isiah (4) who he has loved & raised as his own. If you know Jared you know how easily he has always sunburned & his complaints of too hot of weather. Him staying in Florida to better himself & be with his new family is a testament of his endurance, loyalty, & commitment.
This past Saturday, April 30th Jared, Kathrine & the three kids were in a terrible car accident & they need our help! The kids suffered several minor injuries including Matthew breaking his collarbone, but they are all okay and staying with family. Kathrine & Jared are both still hospitalized. Kathrine has broken her spinal cord, pelvic bone & collarbone, Jared is currently in ICU with a broken neck, jaw and mid-facial fracture. He is on a ventilator & sedated. He had a subarachnoid hemorrhage & his skull is fractured all over. The swelling has been extreme, but has gradually continued to go down since his arrival. They are excercising him so that his breathing muscles stay working. Once the swelling has gone down they are hoping he will be able to breathe out of his nose on his own.

Please keep Jared, Kathrine, the kids & their families in your thoughts & prayers during this heart wrenching time as they continue to fight & begin their road to recovery. The kids need them! I want them to be able to focus on getting better & not stress over the financial burden of all the medical bills, which we all know can be astronomical. The money raised will be used to help pay for medical expenses & the necessary recovery needed for Jared, Kat & the kids.
