Dear friends,
As many of you know I am a Bahamian and as many of you may not know I've had many family members affected by hurricane Dorian. Many of you have asked how you can help and I had no answers but with lots of encouragement from friends I have set up this go fund me account to help in assisting with daily necessities. Every little bit helps in rebuilding their lives and it will be a long road to resembling some form of normalcy. Thanks for your support and prayers thus far.
*Disclaimer this is for individuals in my family and their community members only but I am also involved in other humanitarian efforts with larger non profits. *
For those who would like to help in other ways, there are many opportunities:
1) Vacation in the Bahamas – it’s a country of over 700 islands, only 2 of which are now damaged. More than 50% of the population works in jobs linked to Tourism. Every $ spent will impact the economy and help the impacted islands recover faster.
2) Give to a reputable charity – there are many opportunities out there, some honest and some not. Do your research. The links below are ones I have confirmed to be legit.
(A) HeadKnowles – Hurricane Relief – on the ground Bahamian Relief Agency
